It is with great sadness that we announce the passing yesterday of our grade 5 teacher Wes Krahn. He unexpectedly and quickly passed after school on March 15, 2023, due to a sudden medical condition. Wes Krahn was a devoted Christian educator and beloved member of our school community, having served as a teacher at WMEMS for 17 years. He was known for his dedication to Christian education, passion for teaching, knowledge of the Bible and faith in Christ. He will be deeply missed by students, colleagues, and staff alike. We trust and pray that our Lord will comfort us and help us care for Mr. Krahn’s family and all those who are grieving. We extend our deepest sympathies to Mr. Krahn’s family during this difficult time.

WINNIPEG, Manitoba - It was an exciting last two days for WMEMS students and families as we celebrated Christmas in person for the first time since 2019. Each campus hosted a Christmas concert this week, with Bedson taking place on December 13 and Katherine Friesen following up on December 14. Both concerts were well attended by parents and families, packing Portage Avenue Church and Bethel Mennonite Church. The Bedson concert told the Christmas story using the different languages spoken in our students' homes. Choirs and bands performed in front of a beautiful backdrop of words and pictures. The Katherine Friesen concert featured a play with student performers and a choir, telling the story of Jesus through the eyes of the stable owner.

WINNIPEG, Manitoba - Students at the Bedson Campus participated in an outdoor Living Nativity on December 12. Students from K-8 reenacted Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem and their search for a place to stay. They celebrated Jesus' birth in the stable along with students playing the role of sheep and shepherds. Thank you to our students for putting on an excellent chapel, as well as our staff for keeping everything organized. ###

KATHERINE FRIESEN CAMPUS 26 Agassiz Drive The Katherine Friesen campus sits nestled into a quiet community in Fort Garry just off University Crescent. The school features a brand-new gym, a protected field, and a welcoming entrance. DAYCARE Our Bedson campus is home to our Early Learning Christian Centre. The program is geared to 2-5 year old children and is run by Crestview Park Day Nursery. The goal is to provide each child with a solid spiritual and educational foundation that will prepare them for success once they enter school.
