  • Celebrating Giving Tuesday at WMEMS

WINNIPEG, Manitoba - On Tuesday, November 29, Winnipeg Mennonite Elementary & Middle Schools are encouraging our community to support the WMEMS Bursary Fund and making sure that all families who wish to attend our school are able to. WMEMS offers bursaries of up to 50% of annual tuition to families who otherwise could not afford to attend. The Bursary Fund has kept siblings and friends together in school during situations where families wouldn't have been able to otherwise. Every year, WMEMS families, community members, businesses, alumni, and our parent associations donate approximately $35,000. Giving Tuesday is the world's largest generosity movement. The idea behind it was a day to encourage people to do good: make someone smile, help a neighbour or stranger, or give some of what you have to those in need. Since 2012, it has grown into a global movement. ###
